Meet the Founders

Brooke Elwell, PA-C

Raised in Newburyport, Massachusetts, I moved north to Vermont for college and graduate school before starting my career in medicine. I spent over five years working in emergency medicine before transitioning to pediatrics, where I’ve happily spent the past five years and counting.

My husband and I are raising our two children: a 7-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son. As a family, we love spending time at the beach, traveling, skiing, and making memories with our extended families.

Friends and family often refer to me as “the mom with the bag of tricks.” I’ve always been the one who comes prepared with creative activities to keep little hands busy, especially when we’re out and about. I believe children can learn to enjoy restaurants, public spaces, and downtime when they have the right opportunities to play, explore, and create. For me, it's about finding the balance between encouraging children to enjoy age-appropriate activities and helping them appreciate time spent together, meaningful conversation, and experiences that may not always center on them. These little moments offer wonderful opportunities to build patience, independence, creativity, and social skills, all while allowing everyone at the table to enjoy themselves.

When I’m not working or chasing after the kids, you can usually find me embracing my creative side. Most evenings, I have an embroidery, needlepoint, or crafting project in hand—and often a few more in the works!

   Sherry Pleau, CPNP, PMHS

With 23 years of experience in pediatric medicine, I have had the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, and their families through so many stages of growth. As a mother of three children, ages 23, 20, and 16, and a wife of 26 years, I have also experienced the joys and challenges of raising a family firsthand. Parenting has given me insight and wisdom that complement my clinical experience—a deeper understanding of how children learn, develop, and connect, and how their needs change as they grow.

Outside of my work, I love gardening and spending time at the beach, but cooking for my family is my favorite way to show love, a tradition rooted in my Italian upbringing and Sunday dinners at my grandparents’ house. Those gatherings taught me that a meal is about so much more than food—it is about love, belonging, and making time for one another. Preparing meals for my own family is one of my favorite ways to carry on that tradition and create moments of connection around our table.

I have always considered the dinner table a sacred part of our day—a place to be present, put distractions aside, and connect with one another. Now that my children are getting older, I treasure those moments even more. Life is busy, schedules pull us in different directions, and many families are balancing the demands of two working parents. The table offers a place to come together at the end of the day.

That belief is at the heart of my passion for calm table. My hope is to help families make room for conversation, connection, and meaningful time together. To me, those everyday moments around the table are some of the most valuable moments we share.
